Free Audio Books

There are thousands of free audio books available and more coming online everyday. In this section we concentrate on the 'Listen and Read' programme of Learn English Adventure. We find and review the books where we can access both the text and the audio.

There will be very few pictures when you are downloading audio books, but listening without resource to video and pictures can be so much more interesting, enjoyable and rewarding as the story must come alive within your own imagination.

The video section in the first part of the Listen and Read programme was invaluable to your being able to grasp English quickly.


In this more advanced audio section, you may want to read the text of a book first so that you can look up the new vocabulary, make notes and then after you have read the story and found it suitable for your listening - download the audio book.

By reading the text first you will have a better understanding of what is in the story and will be able to follow it much easier.

We are going to pick 'Great Stories' so the repetition of listening or reading it more than once will not be a chore but a pleasure.
