Have you listened to a good book lately?

Have you read a good book that you could recommend to other ESL students?

Reading books and listening to audio books is one of life's great pleasures and books are so much better when you read or listen to them in the language they were written in, rather than the translated version.

English is a wonderfully descriptive language as it has adopted words from lots of different languages. There are so many shades and nuances of expression.

There are thousands of freely available audio book titles to choose from and millions of e-books. Which have you read, have you enjoyed and would you recommend to others?

Here are some ideas to get you started.

What is the title, who is the author? Who are the characters in the book. What is the plot? What did you like about the story? What did you like about the characters. What didn't you like?

Would you read more books by that author? Who would you recommend the book to? Is it primarily for women or men? Boys or girls? Or could it be enjoyed by anyone?

This is also wonderful writing practice for you and invaluable experience to getting those thoughts down on paper. So go on and have some fun !
